4D/toto

Just now i ate lunch together with my granny and grandpa at hawker center. Then after that my granny asked me to go to the singapore pool to help her queue. This was my first time entered and queued for it. I had never enter before because i hate it. I hate people who gamble! The queue was like a snake. I just would not think of a good reason why people loves to throw their money in the drain. I rather they use it for other purpose like save it for a better future or buy those expenses or foods or etc.
However , there is a person who told me this. Buy 4d or toto is not about gambling , is about buying a HOPE. A hope of luck. I was thinking , is it true?
In the past , when my mother spend her money on toto/4d , i always reply "You not gonna win. Is a waste of money." That 2 sentences , really hurt my mother. She will always said "shut up!" Well , now i know why i cannot said that. Is like someone is hoping to get the kite down but you as a disaster maker , cut the string and make the kite fly away. So now every time she/my relatives buy 4d/toto , i will said "HUATT AHHH!"
